Dying to know

Thank you to everyone who picked up My Brother’s Stinky T-Shirt. We are coming upon three months and guess what …

Thanks to the thousands of supporters, it’s still in the top ten on the Amazon Bestseller List.

I’m humbled by the overwhelming support.

So what’s next from The Bestselling Author Rick Pinkston? It’s a race between a kid’s book and something else for their mom’s. I’d love for them both to be available by Halloween, but we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out.

Aside from all that boring Rick Pinkston stuff, I’ve been reading and rereading a few classics (Slaughterhouse-five, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, etc). I even stumbled upon a Dean Koontz Frankenstein series which intrigues me. The DK haters may roll their eyes, but he can write some powerful characters. Moreover, his descriptions are almost too vivid.

As some of you know, one of my favorite stories is Salem’s Lot by SK. I love it for all the rookie errors and adverbs. It’s a What Not To Do guide that came free with the novel. This demonstrates one doesn’t have to be perfect to gain readers.

I put my editor hat on and sat down to markup the book with highlighters and red ink pens. I noted various aspects; pov, emotion, warm adjectives and adverbs, etcetera. Well, I came home from my day job and discovered my dog ate it. No kidding. I’ll be happy to do it again. It’s a thrilling exercise to do in your spare time. What spare time? Haha.

Thank you,

Rick Pinkston
